A material list does not identify which material is used in each joint, and a posed photograph does not establish a joint’s full range of movement.

Notice that Lunar Lore and Mia Sweety both list a height of about 15 cm, but one measurement excludes the head shell and the other includes the head. They are not equivalent measurements. Likewise, the two 1/8 BJD listings use different height references. Retain those qualifications in product descriptions and request the full assembled height if your display requires it.
Materials Do Not Establish the Joint Mechanism
Niyru Loi and Lunar Lore list PVC, ABS, fabric and metal. Mia Sweety lists PVC, ABS, POM and fabrics. Light Nightmare Twins II lists polyester fiber and ABS. These are the stated material combinations; they do not map every material to a specific component.
Do not turn those lists into an unsupported claim that every BJD uses elastic cords, every MJD uses the same hinge, or one category is always more durable. For an order where construction matters, request information tied to the exact release:
- The maker’s care and posing instructions, including any documented movement limits.
- A demonstration of the actual sample’s articulation, with the product identity visible.
- Confirmation of which parts, clothing and accessories are included, removable or replaceable.
- Any restrictions on adjustment, disassembly or replacement parts.
